Almond Flour Cookie Base

  • 1 3/4 cups fine almond flour, packed and ready to rock
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/3 cup melted butter (or coconut oil if you’re dairy-free)
  • 1/4 cup orange juice 
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest 
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, at room temperature

Cinnamon Orange Sugar Mix

  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest (get ready for your kitchen to smell amazing)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt and turmeric. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and orange juice and if using, orange blossom water.
  4. Add egg and vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll in Cinnamon Orange Sugar Mix: Scoop 1 tablespoon balls and roll into the cinnamon orange sugar mix.
  7. Bake: Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden around the edges.
