Protein Donuts

The perfect transition from holiday hangover to new year new you. Protein donuts are an easy way to satisfy your sweet tooth. They also help you increase your protein intake!

Ingredients

Donut Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup flour , I use King Arthur Gluten Free
  • 3/4 cup protein powder, I use Orgain Chocolate
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1 tbd unsalted butter , melted
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 tbs granulated sugar , you can also use alternative sweeteners

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar , I used Swerve
  • 3 tbs almond milk

Instructions

Donut

  • 1)

    Preheat Oven to 350*F. Spray your silicon donut pan and dust it with flour.

  • 2)

    Place all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix together until combined. Add milk, egg, vanilla, and butter then whisk until smooth.

  • 3)

    Place the donut batter into a Ziploc bag and cut the corner to pour the batter into the donut pan. Fill each donut cup half full of batter.

  • 4)

    Bake for 10-15 minutes or until a fork or toothpick comes out clean. Start low and add time as needed, varies by ingredients used.

Glaze

  • 1)

    Whisk together all ingredients until smooth, for thicker glaze add additional powdered sugar as needed.
