As summer heats up and family gatherings happen more frequently, I often find myself in charge of dessert. Enter Frozen Fruit & Yogurt Bars!
For our most recent family gathering, a barbecue at my parents, I needed something fresh, healthy and kid approved that I could bring. I often turn to baking but that felt a little time intensive and I had a lot to do that day. These Frozen Fruit & Yogurt Bars take just a few minutes in the morning to prep and by later afternoon/evening they’ll be frozen and ready to serve!
As our family ages, and grows with little ones I have found its important to not only find something everyone might like but to consider how I can make things that are fresh, lower in sugar and have added nutritional benefits for our growing and aging family to be the best we can.
These bars an easy dessert made using a few ingredients, a blender and these super fun silicone popsicle molds I found on Amazon!
My sister in-law has been making her boys frozen fruit bars recently so i’ll credit her for this idea. I however was in the mood for something a little bit creamier, so I thought, why not layer in some greek yogurt! Ever since my husband and I took our trip to Greece a few months ago I can’t stop using (or just eating) greek yogurt in everything I do. For this recipe I used my favorite frozen fruit blend for this recipe, its loaded with flavors of summer – strawberries, blueberries and mangos. Nothing says summer to me quite like mangos!
Grab your favorite frozen fruit, blender and some yogurt – We’ve got a treat to make!
