Ingredients You’ll Need for this Peppermint Bark
- 20 oz chocolate chips
- 20 oz white chocolate chips
- ⅛ tsp peppermint extract
- 1 sprinkle sea salt
- 1 cup crushed candy canes
Instructions
- Melt the dark chocolate chips using one of the methods below
- Microwave: Use your microwave’s defrost setting and heat the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring between each time.
- Stovetop: Use a double boiler or a saucepan on low heat to melt the chocolate, stirring constantly.
- Pour the melted dark chocolate onto a baking sheet lined with wax or parchment paper. Smooth it out into an even layer and allow it to cool and set.
- Melt the white chocolate chips using the same method as the dark chocolate. Once melted, add the peppermint extract and stir well.
- Pour the white chocolate layer on top of the dark chocolate and smooth it out to create a flat finish. Sprinkle sea salt on top for an extra flavor boost.
- Top with crushed candy canes and press them gently into the white chocolate layer to ensure they stick.
- Allow the bark to cool and set completely before breaking it into pieces.
Pro Tip: To speed up the cooling process, place the baking sheet in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes.
